start out at 7 o'clock on
an all day hike go 22 1/2
miles and make camp
at 3:30. The whole bunch
was all in, about 1/2 of the
Co. went back in the
ambulances. Out of the
whole San. train there
was 145 men fell out,
It was a forced march
& awfully hot. had 2
sand wiches & an apple
for lunch. go to bed early.
The ground was quite soft
Thu - May 2, '18
slept fine all night, I
woke up once when
the horses & mules
stampeded but that was
all. got back a little before
noon wrote to B_ and
(cont'd)...
mother & Lillian, wash
clothes, go to the show
and go to bed early.
rained this afternoon.
Fri - May 3, '18
exercise this morning
and one lecture by the
Capt. get ready to
leave this afternoon
on a hike. It is raining
this morning. Leave at
12:30 on the hike made
camp about 3 o'clock.
awfully stormy. got a
letter from B_ and
answered it. go to bed
early.
